Technical Storage

Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last Revised: October 2026. A comprehensive register of cookies, client-side storage keys, and Google Consent Mode v2 default settings.

§1 Cookie & Client Storage Overview

Athabasca Play Hub utilizes minimal client-side data storage technologies to deliver our social simulation services. We distinguish between HTTP cookies (small text fragments sent between browser and server) and modern HTML5 Local Storage keys (client-side data containers that remain strictly on your local device).

We do not employ non-essential tracking cookies without your express, informed authorization. By default, all optional analytical measurement storage is held in an active 'denied' status until affirmative permission is granted.

§2 Strictly Necessary HTTP Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are fundamental to the technical operation and security of our web application. They cannot be disabled through our consent interface, as doing so would prevent account sign-in and page navigation:

Cookie Name Provider Purpose & Description Duration
PHPSESSID athabascaplayhub.com Maintains encrypted session state between HTTP requests, validating curator sign-in status and preserving anti-CSRF protections. Session End

§3 HTML5 Local Storage Tokens

To enhance performance and eliminate unnecessary server telemetry, our platform utilizes browser Local Storage to maintain user interface preferences directly on your hardware:

Storage Key Domain Scope Technical Purpose Retention
aph:claims Origin Local Storage Stores the array of game plate slugs marked as sigils/bookmarks for rapid catalog filtering. Persistent
aph:recent Origin Local Storage Preserves the last six simulation plates launched in Practice Mode for shelf recall. Persistent
aph:scene Origin Local Storage Remembers chosen atmosphere lighting theme (Boreal Dawn, Amber Parchment, Spruce Night). Persistent
aph:analytics-consent Origin Local Storage Records user telemetry choice ('granted' or 'denied') to enforce Google Consent Mode v2 states. Persistent

§4 Google Consent Mode v2 Architecture

Athabasca Play Hub strictly adheres to Google Consent Mode v2 specifications. All telemetry tags are configured to execute in an initial denied state prior to any user interaction:

window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}
gtag('consent', 'default', {
  'analytics_storage': 'denied',
  'ad_storage': 'denied',
  'ad_user_data': 'denied',
  'ad_personalization': 'denied',
  'wait_for_update': 500
});
window['ga-disable-G-APH77291B'] = true;

When a visitor clicks "Allow Analytics" in our floating banner or preferences panel, the client engine invokes gtag('consent', 'update', {'analytics_storage': 'granted'}). If the user clicks "Reject Analytics", all measurement flags remain permanently denied.

§5 Browser Controls & Revocation of Consent

You can adjust or revoke your consent preferences at any time by visiting our dedicated Cookie Preferences dashboard.

Additionally, you can configure your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to block all cookies or notify you whenever a cookie is set. Note that purging browser local storage will clear your marked sigils and recent plate history.

§6 Policy Updates & Technical Inquiries

We may periodically revise this policy to reflect software updates or legislative changes. Questions regarding our storage mechanisms may be addressed to our Data Privacy Desk at privacy@athabascaplayhub.com.
